NEWS FROM SEVERN BEACH SCHOOL

www.severnbeachprimary.org.uk.

Term 5 started off bright and sunny and it is lovely to see the children outside in shorts and summer dresses.  Sports Day has been arranged for the beginning of July so children are busy practising for that.  The children in Years 5 and 6 have basketball each week with a coach and Years 1 and 2 are swimming until the end of term.

Some of the Year 3 and 4 children attend Pyramid Club one day a week after school, where they take part in a variety of activities, such as cooking, games, craft making etc.

A group of older children attended a Politics Day at Marlwood School, where they participated in politically based activities, created their own political party and had question time with local MP Steve Webb.

‘On Your Bike Week’ took place in June and the kitchen put on a special menu and South Gloucestershire Council ran a competition for the children to win a bicycle.

The Friends have worked very hard creating a spectacular float for Pilning Carnival, which, at the time of writing, is just about ready for the big day!

We welcomed the Come Alive Puppet Show who performed ‘The Good Samaritan’ for the whole school and everyone enjoyed it.

Auditions and rehearsals for the Key Stage Two summer production, ‘Moving On’ are well underway.  More on that next time.
