Thursday 24 July 2008 (7pm – 9pm) at

The Hallen Centre, Moorhouse Lane, Hallen

The Severnside Safer and Stronger Community Group held a successful public meeting at the beginning of May to discuss priorities for the local area. Local residents and community representatives had the opportunity to raise their concerns, as well as talk to members of the Safer South Gloucestershire Anti-Social Behaviour Team who gave a presentation on their work.

Traffic and transport issues were the top concerns raised at the previous meeting and at the next meeting on 24 July there will be an opportunity to look at some of the issues in more detail. If you are a resident of Almondsbury, Easter Compton, Hallen, Pilning, Severn Beach and the surrounding areas and would like to share your concerns or have any comments on where you live, then please come along on the 24 July.

A wide range of issues can be discussed at the meetings including crime & safety, traffic & transport, health issues, leisure & recreation, local economy, housing, community facilities and the local environment. Representatives from South Gloucestershire Council, Police, Fire Service, Parish Councils and key local organisations attend the meetings. The meetings are friendly and everyone is welcome – please tell your friends and family to come along.

This is a group of local people plus representatives from key local organisations. The aim of the group is to support local action in the parishes of Almondsbury and Pilning & Severn Beach that contributes towards a safer and stronger community. Together we want to work to promote pride in the community as a safe, thriving and pleasant place to live, work and play.

As a group we want local people to have a greater voice and influence in their local area and to do this we need people to get involved. If you have ideas about what could be done to improve the local area then we would like to hear from you. If you would like to get involved in identifying local priorities then please get in touch. The group will meet approximately four times a year and will be organising regular public meetings to find out about local issues.
